Following the government's latest advice regarding the control of the Covid-19 virus , we can now resume our choir practice on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm in Marple URC. There are some protocols to observe to protect all the participants, but we hope to enjoy our singing again. All choristers, past and present, are invited to join in the fun.
We are planning to have some concerts in the not too distant future and further details will be posted as soon as these are confirmed.

Community Concert Stockport Town Hall
17th December 2019
Despite the late change of date (due to the General Election), over 600 people turned out for the annual Stockport Community Carol Concert at Stockport Town Hall. The audience was treated to a wide variety of musical presentations from local performers and visiting guests. The MC for the evening was the multi-talented Ruth Malcolm who managed a delightful balance of humour and gravitas.
The theme of all the contributions was, of course, the Christmas message, which was presented in a variety of musical compositions. The band, massed choir, and soloists (not forgetting the Timbreltastic tambour group) were all on top form with modern and traditional offerings.
The Dovedale Singers joined forces with the Salford Royal Choir and the Stockport SA Songsters for an eclectic mix of seasonal songs that raised the roof. However, the highlight of the evening was the wife and husband team of Stephanie and Gavin Lamplough with their rendition of 'Rejoice, greatly' from Messiah, arranged by Gavin for solo soprano and trumpet.
All in all a successful and enjoyable evening with a significant collection donated to the Salvation Army Big Collection programme. Roll on Christmas 2020!
